What is F45?
F45 is the new gym quickly entering the Austin market. The “F” stands for Functional Training and the “45” stands for the total-time of all of our classes – – 45 minutes.
According to the website, F45 states that their concept is simple: studios offer a 45 minute High-Intensity, Circuit Training workout class. F45 developed 27 different 45 minute workouts and every day throughout the week offers a different 45 minute workout. The workouts are created by the F45 Athletics and Peak Performance Department from a database of over 3,000 different exercises, so our members never get the same workout twice. I think this is the best part- you never get bored!
Functional Training is the engagement in exercises that mimic or recreate everyday movement. These types of exercises typically involve the use of your full body and multiple muscle groups. This style of training builds and sculpts lean, functional muscle – Lifting, Squatting, Jumping, Twisting, Pulling, Pushing, Punching, Kicking, Rowing, Biking – all of these movements qualify as “Functional”…and all can be found at F45 Training.
Why I joined?
I joined the F45 four point location almost a year ago and it was the first one open in this area. Why do I like this type of gym?
1- Great coaches! All of the coaches are there to motivate you and are good about fixing your form or finding ways to make it harder if you need it.
2- The workout is projected on the TV so you can follow along. This is especially nice for those of us that don’t like to come up with our own routine or feel lost in a big gym setting.
3- Great environment for learning to lift and lifting heavier! Important to lift ladies!!
4- Members are great! Everyone encourages each other regardless of our fitness level.
5 – EARLY AM CLASSES! My favorite item 🙂 I need the 5 am classes and they were great to cater to those of us with young children that need to get home by 6 am to get kiddos ready for school.
